Kanpur, The International Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh is going to get a chance to host domestic matches once again. For the last three years, there was a dearth of home matches at the Green Park Stadium. Matches were not being played here. But, now after three years there will be four domestic matches here in the new year. UPCA is very happy about this.
In the program released by the BCCI, the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur has got a chance to host four home matches. Out of this, two matches are of Ranji series. So there, there is a competition of CK Naidu series. Whereas, a match of Cooch Behar Trophy will be played here. Regarding this, preparations have started at Green Park Stadium. All these matches will start from January.
This is the home match schedule
The first match of the Ranji series at Green Park Stadium will be played between Uttar Pradesh and Haryana from January 3, 2023. The second match of the Ranji series will be played between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand from January 10. Both these matches will be of four days. The third match will be played between Uttar Pradesh and Assam in Colonel CK Naidu Trophy on 22 January. At the same time, the fourth match of the Cooch Behar Trophy will be played between Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on 26th.
There is hope of getting an international match
UPCA Joint Secretary Mohammad Faheem said that it is a matter of great pleasure that domestic matches will be played once again after three years at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. With this, cricket lovers will get a chance to watch the match. Along with this, after BCCI has given the gift of domestic matches to Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium, UPCA is now hopeful that it may get a chance to host international matches as well.
