New Delhi: Sri Lanka Premier League is going to start soon. If the news is to be believed then the prestigious league will start from December 6. The first match of the tournament will be played between Jaffna Kings and Galle Gladiators. A total of five teams are participating in the tournament.
The CEO and Founder of the league, Anil Mohan said, “Cricket is loved by the people in Sri Lanka and we are looking forward to bringing the best of cricket action to our people. Sri Lanka has given some of the best players to the world. We will increase its popularity by including players like Evin Lewis, Carlos Brathwaite and Jaaneman Malan. I hope that the third edition will be as successful as the first two seasons.
Let us tell you that to gain popularity among the fans, former Sri Lankan batsman Sanath Jayasuriya and former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram have been appointed as the brand ambassadors of this league.
Anil further said, ‘We are happy to tell that we have the world’s best batsman Sanath Jayasuriya and ‘Sultan of Swing’ Pakistani bowler Wasim Akram. His arrival will give a boost to the league and this league will spread globally. I am excited to see the talents of Sri Lanka in the league.
This league has achieved good success in the last two years. The tournament has given opportunity to many new players. Shoaib Malik, Darcy Short and other players are also going to participate in the tournament.
