New Delhi, With the arrival of 408 new cases of Kovid-19 in India in a day, the total number of infections in the country has increased to 4,46,70,483, while the number of patients under treatment has come down to 5,881. According to the updated data released on Thursday morning by the Union Health Ministry, the death toll has increased to 5,30,601 after five more patients lost their lives due to infection. These five patients also include four people, whose names have been added to the list of patients who lost their lives due to the global pandemic by Kerala while re-reconciling the figures of death due to infection. One patient has died in Rajasthan in the last 24 hours.
According to the website of the Ministry of Health, the number of patients under treatment for Kovid-19 is 0.01 percent of the total cases of infection, while the national rate of people recovering has increased to 98.80 percent. In the last 24 hours, a decrease of 165 has been registered in the number of patients under treatment for Kovid-19. According to the data, the number of people recovering from the infection has increased to 4,41,34,001, while the death rate has been recorded at 1.19 percent. At the same time, under the nationwide anti-Covid-19 vaccination campaign, 219.88 crore doses have been given so far.
Significantly, on August 7, 2020, the number of corona virus infected in India had crossed 20 lakhs, on August 23, 2020, 30 lakhs and on September 5, 2020, more than 40 lakhs. The total cases of infection had crossed 50 lakhs on 16 September 2020, 60 lakhs on 28 September 2020, 70 lakhs on 11 October 2020, 80 lakhs on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakhs on 20 November. On 19 December 2020, these cases had crossed one crore in the country. Last year on May 4, the number of infected had crossed two crore and on June 23, 2021, it crossed three crore. On January 25 this year, the total cases of infection had crossed four crores.
