Shraddha murder: Delhi Police searches accused Aftab’s mobile in Bhayander canal

Mumbai: A Delhi Police team probing the Shraddha Walkar murder case on Thursday searched the Bhayander canal near Mumbai for a mobile phone. An officer gave this information. He said that Mira, Bhayandar, Vasai, Virar police personnel helped in the search. The Delhi Police team has been camping for a week in Vasai area near Mumbai, where Walkar and his live-in partner and murderer Aftab Poonawalla lived.

On Thursday, Aftab, accused in the Shraddha murder case, was subjected to a polygraph test in several sessions at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). The Director General of FSL refused to share more details. He told that a collective team of experts will decide when Aftab’s narco test will be done. Aftab, accused in the Shraddha murder case, has told the police that he had used several weapons to dismember Shraddha’s body. Let us tell you that in the last few days, the police have recovered five big 5 which have been sent to the forensic team for investigation.

Investigators also recorded the statements of friends, relatives of Walkar and Poonawalla and the owners of the flats they had rented. The Delhi Police on Monday interrogated 11 people in Vasai, Palghar, Maharashtra to solve some mysteries related to the Shraddha murder case. The interrogated people whose confessional statements have been recorded by the police include Shraddha’s friends Laxman Nagar, Rahul Rai, Godwin, Shivani Mhatre and their husbands. According to an ANI report, the police arrested Aftab-Shraddha’s flat owner Jayshree Patkar, Shraddha’s manager Karan Bahri, secretary of Unique Park where Aftab’s family lived, Abdullah Khan, President of Unique Park Ramdas Kevat and owner of Movers & Packers Govind Yadav. Those who had taken Aftab’s luggage from Vasai to Chhatarpur are included.

Aftab is alleged to have strangled his live-in partner Shraddha to death on May 18 and cut her body into 35 pieces. He then kept Shraddha’s severed body parts safe for several days in a refrigerator before throwing them in the forests of Chhatarpur in South Delhi.
