Saharanpur. Female cricketer Nishu Chowdhary has been selected for the India B team. Four players from Uttar Pradesh have been selected in the India Women’s Seniors T-20 Challenger Trophy, out of which the selection of the district’s daughter in the India team has brought excitement and pride to the sports lovers. SDCA Chairman Akram has also congratulated Nishu Chowdhary on being selected in the women’s senior team. Earlier also the talents of Saharanpur have brought laurels to the district in the country and state.
Saharanpur District Cricket Association President Amar Gupta told that India Women Seniors T-20 Challenger Trophy matches will be played at Shaheed Narayan Singh International Stadium Raipur from 26 November. In fact, the talent of farmer Harbir Singh’s daughter Nishu was recognized by her uncle Sachin Kaliyar alias Souran in Jhabiran village near Sarsawa town of the district. He gave the most support and inspiration to his niece to play cricket. Stating this, Harbir Singh said that Nishu had a passion for cricket since childhood.
Who is Nishu and how was his career?
Harbir Singh told that during his studies at Mother Teresa Public School, Sarsawa, Principal Raj Chowdhary sensed Nishu’s love for cricket. Nishu has also been selected for Central Zone, Indian Challenger and India A team in 2018. She has also played in the National Senior Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament. Nishu represented UP in the match. Nishu is a member of the senior women’s one-day cricket team of Uttar Pradesh. Presently posted in Railways, Nishu practices sports in Kanpur.
Nishu was the captain of the Ranji team
Nishu has also been the captain of the UP women’s Ranji team. He is not only a great batsman, but he has pace as well as swing in his bowling. It is because of her all-round performance that she has been impressing the selectors. In the past, Nishu had also performed well for the India A team. Under the captaincy of Nishu, the UP women’s Ranji team played a tournament in Goa, in which teams from Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Vadodara, Goa also participated.
