POCSO court sentences man accused of sexual harassment to 20 years in prison

Telangana. On Thursday, a POCSO court sentenced a man accused of sexually assaulting a minor to 20 years in Manchal, Hyderabad. Along with this, a fine of 20 thousand has also been imposed. Judge Harish of the special POCSO court located in LB Nagar has given this decision. The matter is of 2016. On February 5, 2016, the mother of a 4-year-old innocent daughter reached the Manchal police station to complain and told that the accused Katam Raju had sexually assaulted her daughter.
According to the complaint lodged at the Manchal police station, Katam Raju took the girl to a nearby house on the pretext of giving her money and sexually assaulted her when she was playing, then the next day on February 4, he again asked her for money. Greed, but the innocent daughter ran away from him and told the whole incident to her mother. Officials said that on the basis of the said complaint, a case was registered at Manchal police station, during investigation a police sub-inspector at Manchal police station collected evidence, arrested the accused and sent him to judicial custody. Police said, “After the completion of the investigation, another police officer M Gangadhar filed the charge sheet.”
After this, while hearing the case today, Judge Harish of the Special Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) court sentenced accused Raju to 20 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000.
