Virat Kohli was removed as the captain of the ODI team on 18 November
BCCI sacked Chetan Sharma as chief selector
Virat Kohli’s fans are dancing fiercely
New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sacked Chetan Sharma from the post of chief selector of the selection committee. Along with Chetan, his teammates Debasish Mohanty, Sunil Joshi and Harvinder Singh have also been removed from the selection committee. After the dismissal of Chetan Sharma from his post, there has been a wave of happiness among the fans of Virat Kohli. Kohli’s fans are lashing out on social media about Chetan Sharma and former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.
Chetan Sharma was appointed as the chief selector of the men’s cricket team in the year 2020. He remained in his post for two years. During Chetan Sharma’s tenure, the Indian team won several bilateral series but failed to win any ICC trophy.
Virat Kohli left the captaincy of this short format of cricket after the T20 World Cup last year. After this, Rohit Sharma was appointed as the captain of Team India in his place. A fan wrote, ‘First of all, the pair of ‘Ganguly and Chetan Sharma’ created such an environment that the Indian team is not able to win the ICC trophy under Kohli’s captaincy. After this Rohit was made the captain. Now, both of them have been sacked and still Kohli is India’s best performer.
